Fazer & Improvin’: Dedicated data platform strengthens the Grain Vision program.
Fazer chooses Improvin’ as their data platform provider.
Fazer is introducing a new data platform for its Grain Vision program, promoting more sustainable grain cultivation.
Grain Vision focuses on reducing emissions, strengthening biodiversity, protecting water areas and improving farm resilience.
The new platform, developed by Improvin’, enables scalable collection of farm-level activity data and transparent tracking of program results.
The investment supports Fazer’s ambitions to use high-quality primary data in its sustainability reporting.
Introduction.
Fazer, one of Finland’s largest food companies, has invested in a new data platform powered by the technology company Improvin’. The investment supports the next phase of Fazer’s Grain Vision program.
Fazer’s Grain Vision has its roots in 2013 and is one of Finland’s longest-standing sustainable grain cultivation programs. The program promotes farming practices that reduce emissions, strengthen biodiversity and protect water areas while improving farm resilience. Farmers participating in the program receive premiums based on applied practices.
The new platform enables Fazer to collect farm-level activity data from participating farmers, track and quantify the program’s impact, and use the data and insights in sustainability reporting and collaboration with commercial partners.
Scaling the program with reliable data.
In 2025, Fazer piloted a restructured version of Grain Vision. The program’s tracking was done manually with the support of external partners.
Now, as the number of participating farmers is set to double and the program is gearing up for further expansion, Fazer saw the need for a scalable and structured way to collect farm-level activity data and translate it into clear metrics.
“As the program grows, data quality and the scalability of our operations have become critical. With this platform, we’re moving from a manual, spreadsheet-based process to a more modern way of working. The platform allows us to track our impact with greater precision and prepare the data and results for verification.”
By combining data from multiple sources, such as farm management systems, the platform simplifies program tracking for farmers. Farmers mostly validate data points instead of entering them manually and as a result, receive insights into the impact of the practices they’ve applied.
“Grain Vision is built on long-term collaboration with farmers, so ease-of-use and value for them was central when choosing the technology provider. Farmers should be able to focus on what they do best rather than spending time on tedious reporting”

Data foundation for accelerating impact.
The detailed data and program metrics will be utilized for program development and sustainability reporting. The new data foundation also supports the Fazer’s progress towards its broader climate ambitions, including its Science Based Targets commitment to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 42 percent by 2030.
“We’re proud to provide the data infrastructure that allows programs like Grain Vision to grow.By collecting farm-level data at scale and translating it into clear metrics, the platform helps Fazer track progress, share results transparently and focus on accelerating impact.”
