Improvin’s data collection process achieves independent assurance by the Carbon Trust.
This limited assurance confirms the alignment of Improvin’s farm-level data collection process with global standards, including ISO 14067 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Standard, enabling agri-food companies to build trustworthy product carbon footprints and strengthen commercial and sourcing strategies.
[Stockholm, Sweden - 3 February, 2026]
Improvin’, the leading data platform provider for the global agri-food industry, has achieved limited assurance from the Carbon Trust Assurance, the independent assurance arm of global climate consultancy the Carbon Trust, for its farm-level data collection process.
Following a robust assessment, the Carbon Trust Assurance confirmed that it had found no issues regarding the platform’s capability for collecting and preparing data in alignment with international standards, including ISO 14067 and the GHG Protocol Product Standard.
As food and agriculture companies face rising expectations for transparency and credible Scope 3 emissions data, this milestone positions Improvin’ as a trusted infrastructure partner, helping clients turn fragmented supplier data into defensible insights for reporting, sourcing and commercial impact.
“The third-party assurance by the Carbon Trust demonstrates that our data infrastructure provides a high-quality foundation for accelerating agricultural resilience,” says Niklas Wallsargård, co-founder and CEO of Improvin’.
“We give companies the confidence to act, whether responding to a buyer’s product carbon footprint request, reporting Scope 3 emissions, or strengthening their sourcing strategy.”
A foundation for Scope 3.1 and product-level action.
The independent, third-party assurance demonstrates that Improvin’s platform collects and prepares farm-level data for product carbon footprint calculations in a standardized and high-integrity way. This assurance enables Improvin’ to support credible PCF generation at scale, while giving clients the flexibility to choose the quantification methodology and verification pathway that best meets their objectives.
This strengthens the foundation for:
Scope 3, Category 1 (purchased goods and services) emissions accounting
Cradle-to-farmgate PCFs
Sustainability-linked procurement and supplier engagement
Martin Hockaday, Head of Assurance at the Carbon Trust:
“As Scope 3 makes up the majority of emissions for agri-food companies, many turn to their supply chain. It makes reliable supplier data all the more important. Obtaining assurance of Improvin’s data collection and processing efforts instills confidence among the companies relying on this data to calculate their own footprints and make more informed sourcing decisions.”
Technical assurance scope.
The limited assurance involved a rigorous assessment of Improvin’s farm-level data collection and preparation process, confirming alignment with the following global standards:
ISO 14067:2018 - Specification for the assessment of the life cycle of greenhouse gas emissions of goods and services
Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard
WRI Land Sector and Removals Guidance (LSRG) - Draft
Science Based Targets Initiative’s (SBTi) Forestry, Land and Agriculture Guidance (FLAG)
The Carbon Trust Product carbon footprints Requirements for assurance – Part 1: Technical V3.0
The Carbon Trust Model Assurance Requirements for Assurance v1.0
Note: The assurance applies specifically to the data collection process. It does not cover the calculation methodology used (e.g. Cool Farm Tool). The outputs from the model do not constitute a verified carbon footprint.
Fueling agricultural resilience through high-quality data.
As net zero targets and retailer demands increase, Improvin’s data infrastructure helps agri-food companies gather and validate the supplier-specific data needed to operate with confidence, whether for PCF requests, sourcing decisions, or emissions reduction programs.
Beyond carbon reporting, the platform enables deeper visibility into biodiversity, soil, water and practice-level adoption across sourcing regions, empowering companies to build resilient supply chains on a foundation of high-quality data.
